The new school year is in full swing. Here at Clermont we are kicking off the school year by celebrating Attendance Awareness Month. Did you know that missing two days each month of school is chronic absenteeism? According to current research, that's equivalent to 18 days (10%) of the school year and negatively impacts student performance.

It is important that students attend school each day and make every day count to ensure student success. You can visit https://www.attendanceworks.org/ to learn more.

Every so often we will hold attendance challenges for our students. This month each classroom is tasked with the challenge of perfect attendance each day. When they achieve this they receive a letter. The goal is to spell "Perfect" and for an even tougher challenge to spell "Perfect Attendance". So far our students have accepted this challenge and results will be revealed at the end of September. Classrooms that are able to achieve this goal will receive a classroom reward.

I hope that you also take part in our challenge to ensure that students are at school each and every day to help them be successful!
